Hector Hogan
Dennis Hector " Hec " Hogan ( born July 11, 1931 in Rockhampton, † September 2, 1960 in Brisbane ) was an Australian athlete who was successful in the 1950s in the sprint. He won ten Australian Championships:
In international competitions, he won four bronze medals:
- As a member of the Australian 4 x 110 -y- relay at the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in 1954 in Vancouver ( 41.7 sec ) and 1958 in Cardiff ( 41.5 sec )
- Over 100 y at the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in 1954 in Vancouver ( 9.7 sec ) or more than 100 m at the XIII. Summer Olympic Games in Melbourne in 1956 ( 10.6 sec / 10.77 sec el ) behind the two Americans Bobby Morrow and Thane Baker (both 10.5 sec ). About 200 m he left with 21.7 seconds already out in the quarterfinals.
Hector Hogan died at age 29 from leukemia.
