Heede ( EMS ) is a municipality in the Emsland district, in Lower Saxony in Dörpen. The municipality has approximately 2.200 inhabitants and covers an area of 31.1 km ².

The municipality is located in the northern part of Heede Emsland west of the Ems.

Neighboring municipalities are in the north, the municipality of roadstead and the city of Papenburg, in the east the communities Lehe and Dorpen, in the south the municipality Dersum. To the west it borders the Netherlands.

History

Marian devotion in Heede

Heede was known mainly by the fact that from 1937 to 1940 Marian apparitions are said to have occurred over the years.
