Heglach

The Heglach, also referred to as Pfinz - Heglach, a small river in the Upper Rhine Graben, is an offshoot of Pfinz. It flows near by the Stutensee castle and is a former border river to Stafforter district. The river water has been used for centuries to irrigate the pastures with the Royal Stud. Downstream it flows through the village Friedrichstal, part of the city Stutensee in Baden -Württemberg, where they drive a mill until the mid-20th century. Between Friedrichstal and digging the Heglach combined with the Altenbach. Some of the water flows back into the ditch at Pfinz, the other part flows over the old creek and the Verlängerter Pfinzkanal the Rhine valley channel.
