South of Luebbecke is the Heidbrink

The Heidbrink near Luebbecke is with 319.6 meters above sea level. NN is the highest mountain of the Wiehengebirge and the district of Minden - Luebbecke in North Rhine -Westphalia. He is also the most northerly peaks over 300 meters in Germany.

Geographical location

The Heidbrink is located about two kilometers southeast of Luebbecke on the border between the city and the Luebbecke located south of this large village Hüllhorst. The southern flank of the mountain drops steeply to Hüllhorst district Ahlsen - Reineberg. On the western slope of the mountain Ronceva springs. Lie north of the summit of the Pure Mountain ( 275.9 m ) and the Heidkopfs ( 272.6 m).

Summit stone

To mark Heidbrinkgipfels there a five -ton sandstone was set up with strong iron deposits on 24 May 2008, which is typical of the local Wiehengebirge. At the new stone there are two panels; the upper has the Heidbrink than the highest mountain of the Wiehengebirge, the lower panel lists the sponsors. The new stone is not in the same place where previously stood a less spectacular stone, but about 20 meters east thereof; the original stone but was put away in the course of the reorganization.

Transmission tower

About 200 m east of the Heidbrinkgipfels is a transmission tower for round and microwave links. It has a paved access road from the B 239

Viewing and hiking

In the summit region of Heidbrinks is a small open space. Due to the high tree vegetation surrounding the view to the north is blocked; just to the south can be partially seen in the Ravens Mulde.

About the summit region of Wittekindsweg runs ( locally called rather ridge trail ), which on the Wiehengebirge of Osnabrück leads as hiking up to the Porta Westfalica and Heidbrink in the east with the Straußberg ( 275.5 m) and in the west with Horst height ( approximately 275 m ) and the knee Brink (approx. 315 m) connects. The ridge trail runs there together with the European long-distance path E11 ( North Sea - Resin - Brandenburg - Mazury ).

Heidbrinkhütte ( Refuge )

About 500 meters east of the summit and 42 meters north of the trigonometric point 302.0 is slightly more than 300 m height the Heidbrinkhütte. The small shelter is located at Wittekindsweg ( ridgeway ) and thus at the European long-distance hiking trail E11. A predecessor of the hut was built in 1924.
