Heikki Mikkola

Heikki Antero Mikkola ( born July 6, 1945 in Mikkeli, Finland ) is a Finnish former motocross racer and four -time world champion.

The first title was won Mikkola 1974 in the 500cc on a Husqvarna against Roger Decoster, the dominant driver of the 1970s, and thus became the first Finnish world champion in this sport. In 1976, he became the first driver for a title in the 500s and the World Cup in the 250cc. 1977 moved Mikkola Husqvarna to Yamaha and won in 1977 and 1978 two more titles in the 500 cc class before he resigned from active competition after a fifth place in 1979 at the age of 34.
