The Holy Spirit High School (in short: HGG ) is located in the district Würselener Broich in the Aachen region. The support of the private school is the Missionary Society of the Holy Ghost.

History

The monastery Broich, as it is commonly called, has its beginnings in 1903., The then Provincial, Father Acker bought the former parish church, with priest and sacristan apartment to open a mission school for the training of missionaries in the Aachen country. The enthusiasm of the people in the vicinity of Broich was great. So came out of the Aachener country's largest number of Spiritanermissionaren. As early as 1910 had to be built a bigger school and boarding school. After the first world war, in spite of hunger and poverty, the number of students increased to 160

The Nazi era brought the closure of the school and the house, which served as accommodation for Western Wall workers and later for Russian civilian prisoners. End of the war Broich was quite destroyed, so that the Holy Ghost Fathers lived in the basement.

In 1948, the school system was resumed. From 1967, the full gymnasium, which evolved into the Holy Spirit High School in the North district of Aachen country was born. The teachers today, including the head teacher, are lay people who lead in the spirit of the Holy Ghost, the students at a Christian- humanist worldview.

The Fathers of the Mission House Broich are engaged in pastoral care and education as well as in the pastoral care of the surrounding parishes.

Theatre is BühnenReif

"Theatre is Ready for the stage " is a project created by teachers and students project, a play lists every year. These are times similar to older pieces and once wrote himself.
