Heimbach (Glatt)

BW

The Heimbach is a right tributary of the River Glatt, on the eastern edge of the Black Forest, in the counties of Rottweil and Freudenstadt, Baden- Württemberg. The Heimbach has a length to the mouth of around 24 km. It rises southwest of the city Schramberger part Waldmössingen in Rottweil district and then flows in a northerly direction largely by the municipality Fluorn- Winzeln, past the Alpirsbacher Römlinsdorf district and the district Dornhaner Breast hamlet. Then it flows through the municipality Lossburg. After the town Wälde the small river changes the flow direction towards the east of Glatt. He now flows around the arc around the district of Sterneck through a wooded valley, fed below Sterneck a small dam, which is somewhat hidden in the forest, and then flows in Dornhaner district Leinstetten in the Glatt.

Were along the Heimbach and several mills are operated, so in Fluorn- Winzeln. In Betzenweiler is the historical oil mill at Heimbach.

The Heimbach reservoir is in turn powered with a tunnel system with water from the upper Glatt Valley. The pent-up water is again a system of tunnels Glattal down in Bettenhausen ( Dornhan ) for operation of a hydropower station. For details see Dornhan page ( discussion).

The Heimbachauen in Betzenweiler -Walde are a conservation area.
