Heinrich Borgmann

Heinrich Borgmann ( born August 15, 1912 in Angermuende, † April 5, 1945 in Magdeburg ) was a German officer, last colonel in the general staff and adjutant of Adolf Hitler.

Life

1932 Borgmann entered the fifth ( Prussian ) an infantry regiment of the Reichswehr.

As head of the 9th company of the infantry regiment 46 he participated in the Polish campaign, in part, as well as on the western campaign. After that, he became leader of the advance party " Borgmann " in the 30th Infantry Division. In the German -Soviet war he was in the Army Group North of the leaders of the cycling division 30, he led the 3rd Battalion of Infantry Regiment 46, and finally again the " battle group Borgmann ". On 7 February 1942, he was severely wounded, and on February 11, 1942, he was awarded the Oak Leaves to the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. There, he was transferred to the Military Academy in Berlin with his training as a general staff officer. As Ib and Ia Borgmann served in various divisions. In July 1943, he was the liaison officer of the Army under Adolf Hitler, who was the Chancellor also commander of the army. At the July 20 Plot 1944 attendees who stood to his left, and the stenographer Heinich Berger, who was standing to his right, killed by the explosion. He survived with serious injuries and received the Wound Badge 20 July 1944.

After recovering, he was promoted to colonel. On 2 April 1945 he became commander of the newly formed Infantry Division Scharnhorst, an association of the 12th Army. Even before the takeover command, he was severely wounded by an enemy strafing and died in a military hospital in Magdeburg.
