Heinrich Moritz Chalybäus

Heinrich Moritz chalybaeus ( born July 3, 1796 in Pfaffroda, Electorate of Saxony, † September 22, 1862 in Dresden ) was a German philosopher. As a high school teacher, he represented Hegelianism and theism.

Life

Chalybaeus attended the Prince's School St. Afra in Meissen. After graduation he studied in Leipzig, where he received his doctorate in 1820, and worked as a tutor in Vienna, then as a teacher at the school Cross in Dresden, at the Prince's School St. Afra in Meissen and at the Military Academy in Dresden.

The University of Kiel in the Duchy of Holstein appointed him in 1839 to its Department of Philosophy. 1852 but dismissed by the Danish government with nine other colleagues for German national sentiments of the Office 1854 but reinstated. 1850/51 and 1858/59 he was rector of the university.

Chalybaeus belonged to the negotiating Hegelianism. He was known primarily developed in his lectures and in 1837 printed work Historical development of speculative philosophy from Kant to Hegel (5th edition 1860). It was twice in the English language ( 1854 Tulck and 1860 by Edersheim ). In his main work system of speculative ethics ( 2 vols ) 1850 represented chalybaeus an eclectic theism.
