Heinz Dürr

Heinz Otto Dürr (* July 16, 1933 in Stuttgart ) is a German entrepreneur and manager. He is a major shareholder of the Stuttgart Dürr AG. From 1980 to 1990 he was CEO of AEG Group. From 1991, he was the first president of the German Federal Railroad, from 1 September 1991, Director General of the Deutsche Reichsbahn. With the merger and privatization of two tracks to Deutsche Bahn AG as part of the railway reform, he became CEO of the new company. He held until 1997 this position.

Career

After attending a National Political reform school, he completed his schooling at the Leibniz -Gymnasium in Stuttgart and then trained as a structural steel fitter at DUEWAG in Krefeld. By 1957, he studied mechanical engineering at the University of Stuttgart. It was followed by the leadership of the family business Otto Dürr acting alone authorized managing director until 1980.

Corporate services

In this capacity, he built the Otto Dürr GmbH industry to the international Dürr Group. As chief negotiator for the metal employers in collective district Nordwürttemberg - Nordbaden he gained national prominence.

Rehabilitation of AEG
