Heinz Höher

Heinz Higher ( born August 11, 1938 in Leverkusen ) is a former German football player and coach.

Career

Player

Higher rose 1961/62 Bayer 04 Leverkusen at the Football Oberliga West. His professional career began in 1963 at the former Bundesliga Meidericher SV. As a result, higher changed for one year (1965 /66) in the Netherlands for FC Twente Enschede before settling in the summer of 1966, the then third division VfL Bochum joined. With the higher VfL reached as a player in 1968, the DFB Cup final in Ludwigshafen, which he, however, with 1:4 lost against the heavily favored 1 FC Cologne.

During his time at Bayer 04 Leverkusen Higher graduated from nine matches in the German amateur national.

Coach

His coaching career began in 1972 at the Higher VfL Bochum. When Bundesliga Higher stayed for seven consecutive years and is the head coach to this day the longest serving coach of Bochum club's history. After his departure from Bochum higher worked for MSV Duisburg, Fortuna Dusseldorf and 1.FC Nuremberg in the Higher In 1988 at the manager post, then 1989-90 in Jeddah. A comeback attempt in the dugout failed and in 1996 at VfB Lübeck for health reasons. On his first day in Lübeck Higher broke after circulatory collapse together on the training ground. By 2010, higher was an alcoholic, but since then dry.

Higher Heinz, who now is in his last activity as a trainer as a youth coach for SpVgg Greuther Fürth, where he discovered Juri Judt and promoted, retired, now lives in Franconia.
