Heinz Versteeg

Heinz Versteeg ( born March 24, 1939October 15, 2009 in Rheinberg ) was a Dutch football player.

Career

Versteeg played from the youth team in the youth of the Meidericher SV. After the A- youth he belonged immediately to the league cadres of " zebras ". He made his debut on August 25, 1957 in a 1-0 win at SC Viktoria Köln in Attack of the Meidericher. In his fourth appearance on February 16, 1958 at the home game against the Wuppertal SV he distinguished himself first as a scorer in the Oberliga West. He formed together with the brothers Kurt and Ludwig Nolden the inner storm of MSV. Already in his second year he was a member of the regular cast. The attack in the season 1958/59 sat usually composed of Versteeg, Ludwig Nolden, Heinz Bohnes, Kurt Nolden and Werner Lotz. Versteeg graduated as a 20 -year-old 29 games and scored 17 goals.

In the last two league rounds Meiderich pushed into the top of the table spaces. In the crucial 1962 /63 " zebras " won third place and were thus nominated for the new Bundesliga. On the final day of the round, on May 11, 1963 received the MSV as in fourth Preußen Münster, who came in third place in the Wedau. Two goals from Versteeg Meiderich won the game and finished in the final standings in third place. Overall Versteeg graduated from 1957 to 1963 in the Oberliga West 137 games and scored 52 goals for Meiderich.

In the first year of the Bundesliga, 1963/64, Meiderich surprisingly won with coach Rudi Good village the runner-up behind champions 1.FC Cologne. Together with goalkeeper Manfred Manglitz Versteeg played all 30 league games. The MSV - scorers led to Werner Krämer ( 11 goals), Versteeg (9 ), Helmut Rahn ( 8) and, together with seven goals Werner Lotz and Gustav Walenciak. The last time came the technically studded striker in the Premier League on 21 May 1966 under the 1:4 defeat at the 1st FC Nuremberg used. After 62 Bundesliga appearances with 14 goals, he finished his activity in Meidericher SV and joined to round 1966/67, Hamborn 07 in the West Regional.

End of runway

For Hamborner "Lions" Versteeg ran from 1966 to 1970 in four seasons again in 111 games on Regional, scoring 17 goals. He finished his career at the age of only 29 years. Then he trained yet Gelria funds and the SV Orsoy before he reinforced his new passion devoted to the game of tennis.
