Helen McNicoll

Helen Galloway McNicoll (* 1879 in Toronto, Ontario, † June 27, 1915 in Swanage, Dorset) was a Canadian painter of Impressionism.

Life

Helen McNicoll came from a respected family from Toronto. By scarlet fever disease in her childhood, she was deaf. Despite her disability, visited McNicoll 1899, the Art Association of Montreal, to study art history at William Brymner ( 1855-1925 ). In 1902 she moved to England to educate themselves on the London Slade School of Fine Art and later at St Ives, Cornwall, under the British painter Algernon Talmadge († 1937).

Helen McNicoll died at the age of 36 years in her cottage in Swanage.
