Heleno Fragoso

Heleno Fragoso Cláudio ( born February 5, 1926 in Nova Iguaçu, † 18 May 1985 in Rio de Janeiro ) was one of the most prominent Brazilian criminal law and criminology. He completed his studies at the University of Rio de Janeiro. In 1981 he became professor of criminal law at the same university. He was also Doctor Honoris Causa at the University of Coimbra, Portugal. Vice - President of the Association Internationale de Droit Penal and the International Commission of Jurists. He was a famous criminal lawyer of many political prisoners during the military dictatorship in Brazil ( 1964-1985 ).
