The Helicopter Transport Squadron 64 (HTG 64) was from 1966 to 1994, a flying unit of the Luftwaffe of the Bundeswehr.

History

The Helicopter Transport Squadron 64 was made ​​on October 1, 1966 in Penzing near Landsberg in service. Personnel and material came from there collapsed three air rescue and connection squadrons from Fassberg, Lechfeld and Fürstenfeldbruck and - after installation of the jet training in the United States - from parts of the pilot school "A". In January 1968, the subordination of the 3rd Air Rescue and connection Season in Ahlhorn was. In May 1968, the newly formed 4th season relocated to Diepholz. From February 1968 to May 1969, the UH -1D was introduced as the sole use patterns and thus adjusted the type variety of the squadron. After the dissolution of air transport squadron 62, the HTG 64 is laid out with three seasons in April 1971 at the airbase Ahlhorn. The enhanced season 1 remained in Penzing. By taking the Air Force structure 4, the HTG 64 was dissolved on 1 April 1994. Personnel and material took on the air transport squadron and flight readiness of the Ministry of Defense.

As a new, pure helicopter squadron of the Air Force, the helicopter squadron 64 (HSG 64) was put into service on October 1, 2010 in Wood Village.
