Henderson is a small town with 1,531 inhabitants in 2000 and is situated in St. Martin Parish of the U.S. state of Louisiana.

Henderson is located on the western edge of the recognized as a national cultural heritage wetlands of the Atchafalaya Basin in the west between Lafayette and Baton Rouge on the east, and thus in the center of the embossed by francophone immigrants Cajun Country.

The Interstate 10 highway, which is known as the Atchafalaya Swamp Freeway here leads north to Henderson over and crosses on the stilts of a 29.3 km long high road to Henderson Lake and the wetlands of the Atchafalaya River, a tributary of the Mississippi River.
