Hendrik Poinar

Hendrik N. Poinar (* 1969 in Utrecht) is an American evolutionary biologist.

Life

The son of entomologist George Poinar and Roberta Poinar of was known by the extraction of DNA of extinct animals. He received his doctorate in Munich and was then at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology in Leipzig.

Currently (2006) he has been a professor at McMaster University in Hamilton (Ontario), Canada.
