Geographical Location

The community is located between the cities of Lauf an der Pegnitz and Hersbruck. The name derives Henfenfeld probably originally from Hamfenfeld from, a field was added to the earlier hemp.

History

On April 13, 1059 Henfenfeld was first mentioned. The precious outdoors of the 11th century was followed by a ministerial who were vassals as Bishop of Bamberg resident up to the end of the 14th century here. In the 15th century Hartung acquired by Egloff stone of the castle and in 1530 came the reign of the Nuremberg patrician family Pfinzing that henceforth " Henfenfeld " called themselves.

On May 4, 1553, the castle was set on fire and burned completely. In the years after 1557 it was - probably by the Nuremberg architects Paul Beheim - set for Pfinzing family repaired.

After the extinction of the male line (Johann Sigmund Pfinzing ) in 1764 inherited the Haller of Haller stone the manor. 1817 acquired the Nuremberg merchant Benedict of Black Castle, who also owned the goods of Artelshofen and deer creek.

  • The breakpoint Henfenfeld is on the railway line between Nuremberg and Schwandorf. Since December 12, 2010, he is part of the rapid transit network, Nuremberg, Nuremberg Streckenast - Röthenbach run - Hersbruck - Hartmannshof hourly with two S- Bahn trains in each direction.
