Henning Otte

Henning Otte ( born October 27, 1968 in Celle ) is a German politician ( CDU).

Life and career

After graduating from the Christian High School in Hermannsburg Otte did his military service as a soldier in the Bundeswehr and also went through the training to become a reserve officer in the Tank Battalion 333 in Celle. He then trained as a banker at the Sparkasse Celle and then began studying law at the University of Hamburg. Otte most recently served as general manager in a medium-sized steel construction company.

Henning Otte is Protestant, married and father of four children.

Party

Otte joined the CDU in 1994 and belongs since 1999 to the board of the CDU district association Celle. Since 2006 he is member of the board of the European People's Party ( EPP) and deputy chairman of the CDU since 2007 district association Nordostniedersachsen.

Member of Parliament

Since 1996 Otte is a member of the city council of Bergen, the Ortsrat of Eversen and the council of the district of Celle.

He became a member of the German Parliament, into which he moved about the country's list of Lower Saxony in 2005. In 2009 he got the direct mandate in the Bundestag constituency of Celle - Uelzen with 44.2 percent of the primary vote.

He is a regular member of the Defence Committee and alternate member of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the German Bundestag. Since January 2014 he has been Chairman of the Working Group on Defense of the CDU / CSU parliamentary group and thus its defense policy spokesman.

Public offices

Otte is the Deputy District Administrator of Celle.
