Henri Büsser

Paul Henri penitents ( born January 16, 1872 in Toulouse, † December 30, 1973 in Paris), spelling of the surname also Busser, was a French composer and music educator.

Penitent was in Toulouse pupil of Aloys Kunc. In 1885 he came to Paris in the eponymous Louis Niedermeyer École Niedermeyer de Paris and studied from 1889 at the Paris Conservatory with César Franck and Charles -Marie Widor. He also received by Ernest Guiraud, Charles Gounod and Jules Massenet composition lessons. In 1893 he won the Prix de Rome. After his return he was Kapellmeister at the Théâtre du Château d'eau, at the Opéra -Comique and the Grand Opéra. From 1921 he taught composition at the Conservatoire de Paris. When his most important student applies Henri Dutilleux.

Penitent composed several operas, a ballet, incidental music, symphonic poems, concert overtures and orchestral suites, six fairs, more than thirty motets, a Magnificat, pieces for organ and piano, choirs and songs. Being oriented towards models of the 19th century, such as Camille Saint- Saëns, Charles Gounod and Richard Wagner style was as far back as very conservative.
