Henri Françillon

Henri Francillon ( born May 26, 1946) is a former Haitian soccer player. As a goalkeeper, he participated with the national team of his native country at the World Cup 1974 in Germany. He was then obliged by TSV 1860 München.

The goalkeeper Henri Francillon qualified with his country for the soccer World Cup 1974 in Germany. It was so far the only time that a Haitian national football team qualified for a World Cup tournament. In the first game of the preliminary round of the team would almost succeeded a sensation against vice-world champion Italy, as they took the lead by the legendary Emmanuel Sanon in Haiti 1-0. After a 0:7 defeat against Poland and a 1:4 against Argentina, the team was indeed resigned, but had acquired sympathies, especially in Munich, the city in which they fought out all their games and had their crew quarters.

Goalkeeper Francillon was noticed also in charge of the TSV 1860 München and so they hired him for the season 1974/75 for the 2nd Bundesliga Süd. Francillon but not developed there to the goalkeeper and took it only five league games. Bernd Hartmann, who had been just like the Haitians committed at the start of the season, was ultimately superior.

After his career in the late returned after his time in Munich to Haiti Francillon was a senator and sat for five years in Parliament. In 1986 he made his way then as a result of the broken in his native unrest in the United States. There he applied for in 1986 together with his wife and four children in Florida asylum. He was then working as a delivery driver. After triggered by the destruction of his house in the wake of Hurricane Andrew moving to Massachusetts, he worked in the Boston Convention Center as a janitor. He also coached youth teams both here as well as the team of Boston's Emerson College. Early 2010 were circulating false reports about the alleged death Françillons in 1999, however today in Norwood in the South East of Boston lives as a pensioner with his wife.
