Henri-Paul Motte

Henri- Paul Motte ( born December 13, 1846 in Paris, † April 1, 1922 ibid. ) Was a French history painter.

Henri- Paul Motte, a pupil of Jean -Léon Gérôme, was known by a number of images about the ancient times. The pictures tell their expert knowledge and are sometimes a bit dry in color. These include The Trojan horse, Pythia (1875 ), Vaal consumed the war captives in Babylon, crossing over the Rhone ( 1878 ), and a fantastic, shown with a light train of irony episode from the Odyssey of Circe, which of the companions Ulysses turned into swine.

Among his paintings with modern motifs are mainly leading figures such as Napoleon Bonaparte and Cardinal Richelieu to find.
