Henrik Tallinder

Henrik Tallinder ( born January 10, 1979 in Stockholm ) is a Swedish professional ice hockey player who plays since July 2013 when the Buffalo Sabres in the National Hockey League on the position of the defender.

Career

Henrik Tallinder is from the offspring of the Swedish ice hockey club AIK Stockholm. In the season 1996/97 he could make his debut in the first Swedish league, Elitserien, celebrate, but otherwise played in the U20 Elite League. At the end of the season he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft at 48th place by the Buffalo Sabres. The following season he was firmly in the professional cadres of the AIK, but was rented for six games at second-rate Piteå HC. Until 2000, he played for AIK and established himself as Denfensivspezialist, which was rare in the points Statistics. He made a leap in performance with his move to the Finnish Erstligaclub TPS Turku for 2000/ 01. He won the Finnish championship with TPS and has a very good plus / minus stats by 23 ( main round ) or 8 ( Playoffs ) reach.

After this successful year in Finland, the Sabres took him into their farm team to Rochester, playing in the AHL. In his rookie year for the Amerks, he was able to achieve six goals and 14 assists in 73 games. During the lockout in the season 2004/ 05 Henrik Tallinder played in his homeland for Linköpings HC in the Elitserien, for whom he scored 16 points in 44 games and reached a 30 in the plus / minus rating. At the end of the season he moved to the Swiss National League A for SC Bern, for which he ran aground in ten playoff games.

2005/ 06 he returned to the Sabres and played a solid main round. In the tenth game of the following season against the New York Islanders, he broke down again the same arm, so that he had to sit 24 games. On 1 July 2010, wrote Tallinder a four- year contract with the New Jersey Devils and left the Sabres so after nine years of franchise affiliation.

In July 2013, the Swede was transferred in exchange for Riley Boychuk to the Buffalo Sabres.

Suspension 2005

In February 2005, Henrik Tallinder, Kristian Huselius and Andreas Lilja were suspected to have raped a 22 - year-old. As evidence of a surveillance camera images were used, with the aid of which the three Swedish hockey players have been identified. Then Huselius and Tallinder were terminated by Linköpings while Lilja of Mora IK was suspended. In addition, all three were excluded for one year from the Swedish national team.

Due to lack of evidence the prosecution was dropped in June 2005, although none of the three players has been recalled to the national team that won Olympic gold in Turin in February 2006.

Internationally

Tallinder represented his country at the World Junior Championships in 1998 and 1999. During the World Cup 2013 in Stockholm and Helsinki, he was again part of the national team and won the gold medal with this.
