Henry Bellingham (politician)

Henry Bellingham ( born March 29, 1955 in Cheltenham ) is a British politician ( Conservative Party ) and deputy in the lower house.

Life

Bellingham completed his study of law at Magdalene College from the University of Cambridge in 1977. After that he was after his admission at the Middle Temple from 1978 to 1984 Barrister. He currently operates an economic advisor firm and lives in Kings Lynn.

Since 1993, he is married and has one child. He speaks German, English and French.

Policy

Bellingham was in 1983 elected to the North West Norfolk constituency as an MP in the House of Lords. He represented that constituency until 1997 and was on 7 June 2001 re-elected as an MP in the Parliament for North West Norfolk. In the general election in 2005 Bellingham was confirmed with 50.3 % of the vote of his constituency as an MP.

He distinguished himself in the defense, economic and agricultural policy. In addition, he is also regarded as a specialist in the Northern Ireland question.

Bellingham was in Parliament from 1991 to 1997 " Parliamentary Private Secretary " for Malcolm Rifkind. It was named in 2002 for the Conservative shadow Ministry of Economy and Trade. In May 2005 he became the " cheerleader " of his group, and in November 2006, Shadow Minister for Constitutional Affairs. Since June 2007 he has been Shadow Minister for Justice.
