Henry Borwin III, Lord of Rostock

Heinrich Borwin III. (* 1220, † August 1, 1278 ) was in 1226 along with his brothers and 1234-1278 sole master to Rostock.

He was the second youngest son of Henry II Borwin After the division of lands him dominion ( principality ) Rostock was awarded. His brother Nicholas I of Werle took over the regency to 1234. After a short time the government came under Saxon suzerainty. Heinrich Borwin came into conflict with the emerging Hanseatic cities of Rostock and Wismar. He also waged war against his brothers.
