Henry V of Rosenberg

Henry V of Rosenberg ( Czech Jindřich z V. Rožmberka; born June 25, 1456May 21, 1489 ) was 1472-1475 Regent of the house Rosenberg.

Life

Henry was the son of John II of älsteste Rosenberg and Anna of Glogau († 1483 ). After the death of his father in 1742 he succeeded him as ruler of the house Rosenberg. Until January 1475, he managed the inherited possessions alone and then to August 24 of this year, together with the younger brother wok. Probably because Henry had psychological and mental problems, he transferred the regency for three years to a wok and took his seat on the Rosenberg castle. The fact that he had health problems resulting from a letter from his brother in law Peter Holičky von Sternberg on August 11, 1476 with this informed the Krumlov castle counts of a necessary medical treatment.

During the short time of Henry's reign Bohuslav of Swan Mountain acquired by the Rosenbergs the reigns Zvíkov and from Mulhouse. The purchase was probably caused only by the insanity of the young ruler. However, both gentlemen were in 1437 reached only by forgeries during the reign of Henry's grandfather Ulrich von Rosenberg to the Rosenbergs.

The prisoner at the capture of the castle Rosenberg 1469 by Zdeněk of Sternberg taken Děpolt von Lobkowitz, who was imprisoned at the castle Krumlov was left during the reign of Henry 1475 free. The release took place at the request of the widow of George of Podiebrad back after the financial matters between the Lobkowitzern and Rosenbergs with accommodation by Bohuslav of swan mountain were regulated.

Successor was his brother Henry Wok von Rosenberg.
