Henryka Bochniarz

Henryka Teodora Bochniarz ( [ xɛnrɨka tɛɔdɔra bɔxɲaʃ ], born October 29, 1947 in Świebodzin, Poland) is a Polish economist. She was Minister of Industry in Poland and is since January 1999 President of the Employers' Association Lewiatan. She is also represented and CEO of Boeing Central and Eastern Europe in various supervisory boards.

Training

Bochniarz completed her studies at the Warsaw School of Planning and Statistics ( SGPiS ) graduated from the Faculty of Foreign Trade with the doctor of economics and a counseling certificate for management. 1985 to 1987 she was a fellow of the Fulbright Foundation, and has read at the University of Minnesota.

Career

She was from 1971 to 1990 lecturer and long-time researcher at the Institute for Economic and prices. From 1978 to 1990, she was the Polish United Workers' Party ( PZPR ). In the government of Jan Krzysztof Bielecki ( 12 January to 5 December 1991) Bochniarz was Minister of Industry and Trade. She founded and led one of the first consulting companies in Poland: Nicom Consulting. They also founded the Society of Economic Advisers ( Stowarzyszenie Doradców Gospodarczych ) in Poland. From June 1996 to October 1999 she was the President of the Polish Business Council. Since January 1999 she has been the Chairperson of the Employers' Association Lewiatan, a non-governmental organization that has the status of a social partner. Bochniarz is Vice President of the Tripartite Commission for Social and economic change and the Committee for Good Practice ( Komitet Dobrych Praktyk ).

Henryka Bochniarz led major privatization projects in Poland. She is a member of several boards. These include the Commercial Union Insurance, IT company ComputerLand, the private station TVN, the media group ITI and the mutual fund company WGI - Towarzystw Funduszy Inwestycyjnych.

In June 2006 Henryka Bochniarz of Boeing International was intended to be Vice - Chief of the Regional Centre for Central and Eastern Europe, which arise in Warsaw and will be responsible for the space of Estonia to Slovenia.

International activity

Bochniarz is a member of the EU's largest employers' association UNICE, the Executive Bureau UNICE ( a group of ten Presidents, Presidents and Directors General of UNICE), which controls the UNICE and key decisions are made. It belongs to the convened in 2000 by the European Commission's Enterprise Policy Group, which advises the EU on economic policy issues. She also works with the The Business and Industry Advisory Committee BIAC, a consulting organization in the OECD, where she represents the entrepreneurs of the OECD countries. Bochniarz is also a member of the meeting convened by the World Bank Advisory Group Private Sector Advisory Group and Chairman of the Polish -Japanese Economic Committee.

Social activity

Henryka Bochniarz is vice chairman of the " Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz " Foundation, which promotes the Zakopane Theatre Witkacy and the literary prize with Nike financed. She works in the Council of the Foundation for Young Entrepreneurship, which prepares children and young people for life in a market economy and in civil society.

Awards

Bochniarz received the Kisiel Prize in 1998 to give the price of the women's magazine Pani " investment of the heart" ( 2000) and the prize " style ZYCIA " (2002) for their type. In 2003 she was awarded the Andrzej Baczkowski Prize for their contribution to the development of social dialogue in Poland and their work on political trenches honored time. She also was awarded the title "Woman of the success of Warmia and Mazury " from the " International Women's Forum " in Olsztyn ( Olsztyn, 2005). In 2004, she received the Commander's Cross of Polonia Restituta. In 2008, she was inducted into the " gallery of honor of the Polish economy " ( Galeria Chwały Polskiej Ekonomii ).

Publications

Bochniarz has written many articles on economics and analysis on social and economic issues. In 2003, she was with Jacek Santorski the book " Be yourself and win - 10 Tips for the active woman " ( Bądź soba i wygraj - 10 podpowiedzi dla aktywnej kobiety ) ISBN 83-89291-34-7 written. She is a co-signatory of the letter of the 100 women in the Europaische Parliament, where it comes to a debate on the situation of women in Poland.

Presidential Elections 2005

On June 4, 2005 Henryka Bochniarz has stand as a candidate for the presidential elections in Poland. It has taken the Democratic Party ( Partia Demokratyczna - demokraci.pl ) support, which they do not belong. She was elected by 188 598 people and has thus 1.26 percent of all votes cast ( 7th place). For the second round, she called her voters on to vote for Donald Tusk.
