Heptateuch ( v. gr ἑπτάτευχος: "Seven vessel " ) is the collective name for the first seven books of the Old Testament: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, Joshua and Judges. In the Hebrew Bible, these are the historical books that deal with the history of Israel to the king before the start time.
