Her Majesty's Coastguard

Her Majesty's Coastguard is the national coast guard of the United Kingdom. It also coordinates the air rescue. The HM Coastguard has stations on the coast of the entire United Kingdom. It was founded in 1829 and is based in Southampton. The Coast Guard is part of the Department of Transportation ( Executive Agency of the Department for Transport ).

The HM Coastguard is a section of the Maritime and Coastguard Agency, which is responsible for the coordination and alerting of all civilian search and rescue in the UK SAR region. Chief of HM Coastguard is Sir Alan Massey.
