Golpar ( Heracleum persicum )

Called Golpar ( Heracleum persicum ), also Persian or Persian Hogweed گلپر, a flowering plant in the family Apiaceae is ( Apiaceae ). It grows in moist mountain regions in Iran as well as some adjacent areas.

Description

The Persian hogweed grows as a perennial herbaceous plant. The flowers are borne in a doppeldoldigen inflorescence.

Use

The seeds are used as a spice in Persian cuisine. The very thin small seedpods are aromatic and slightly bitter taste.
