Herăstrău Park

The Herăstrău Park (Romanian Parcul Herăstrău ) is the largest park of Bucharest in Romania. It is located in the north of the city, around the Herăstrău Lake.

Description

The park has an area of approximately 1.1 square kilometers, of which 0.7 km ² of lake occupies. Originally the area was full of swamps, but these were drained 1930-1935, and the park was opened in 1936. The park consists of two parts: the village museum and public park. Small boats are allowed on the lake.

The design of the park bewerkstelligten the landscape architect Eduard Friedrich Pinard and Rebhun. The Allen were applied from the Octav Dobrescu. A very special merit is the architect Rebhun to the floristic arrangements for the facility.

2004 Herăstrău Park was declared by the Ministry of Culture in Bucharest a natural monument and is provided in the list of natural monuments with the registration number BiSb - 17874.

Attractions of Herăstrău parks are the annual Garden Show " Expo Flora ," Rose Island " Insula Trandafirilor " Japanese Garden " Gradina japoneza ". In Herăstrău Park, there are also two open-air theaters, libraries, sports courts, boat docks on Herăstrău Lake and much more.
