Herb Kohl

Herbert H. " Herb" Kohl ( born February 7, 1935 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin ) is an American politician of the Democratic Party, and philanthropist.

Life

Kohl was born in Milwaukee and grew up there. He studied at the University of Wisconsin- Madison, where in 1956 he achieved his Bachelor. In 1958, he managed to master at Harvard University in economics. Between 1958 and 1964, Kohl was a member of the United States Army Reserve.

Kohl founded his own company after graduation carbon investments. From 1970 to 1979 coal was president of the company Kohl's. In 1985 he earned the NBA Milwaukee Bucks basketball team. From January 1989 Kohl was a United States Senator for the state of Wisconsin. There he stood from 2007 before the Special Committee on Aging. Carbon is unmarried and a member of the Jewish community.

In May 2011, Kohl announced that it would not re-apply for the Senate election in 2012 to his mandate. On the Republican side was Tommy Thompson, former governor of Wisconsin, as the most promising candidate for the nomination.
