Herbert Dorfmann

Herbert Dorfman ( born March 4, 1969 in Brixen, South Tyrol) is an agronomist and a member of the European Parliament and of the South Tyrolean People's Party ( SVP).

Life

Village, he studied after his schooling at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Piacenza (Italy ) Agricultural Sciences. After teaching at the agricultural school in Auer, he worked as Head of the Department of Agriculture in the Bolzano Chamber of Commerce. As director of the South Tyrolean Farmers' Federation, he then led for almost ten years the association. He was elected mayor of his home town Feldthurns 2005. Village man is married and the father of two sons.

Policy

From 2005 to 2009, Herbert Dorfman mayor of his home town Feldthurns. In the European elections in June 2009, he was elected on the list of the South Tyrolean People's Party in the European Parliament. He is a member of the Group of the European People's Party ( Christian Democrats), whose board he sits.

Village man is district chairman of the South Tyrolean People's Party in the district Eisacktal and member of the party leadership and the party presidium.
