Herbert Wetterauer

Herbert Wetterau (* April 21, 1957 in Karlsruhe ) is a German painter, sculptor and author.

Life

Wetterau grew up in Karlsruhe, where he studied German after school and civil service at the State Academy of Fine Arts Karlsruhe with Per Kirkeby and Albrecht of Hancke Fine Arts and at the University of Karlsruhe. From 1980 to 1983 he was a member of the Karlsruhe cultural magazine "Culture in Karlsruhe " ( KiK ), for which he wrote mainly art and literary criticism, but also critical reportage from everyday life and where many of his cartoons and illustrations were published short stories by other authors.

Since 1979 he takes part in exhibitions. Among the individual presentations and international exhibition institutions were (1983 separate room Staatliche Kunsthalle Baden- Baden). His artistic works are continuous representational art Initially, the magical realism and socially critical tendencies in painting obliged in 1987 he turned increasingly to sculpture, where the female figure was the dominant theme of his work. Of his works are in private and public collections.

2009 his first novel was published under the title Stromness, the novels Thou shalt not trust and tod.com followed. Wetterau is a member of the BBK and lives in Wörth am Rhein in Karlsruhe.
