Here Without Me

Here without me (Persian اینجا بدون من, Inga bedune one ) is an Iranian film drama from the year 2011. Directed by Bahram Tavakoli, who also wrote the screenplay. The plot of the film was inspired by the play The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams.

Action

The young Yalda is a disability, very shy and collects glass animals. She feels secretly to Reza, the work colleague and best friend of her brother Eshan attracted. Her brother ( whose voice introduces the film Voiceover) writes poetry and dreams of leaving Iran. He wants to be a writer and spends his free time, over and over again to see old movies in cinemas. Her mother Farideh goes two jobs after in a food factory to support her family financially. When she learns that her daughter Yalda interested Reza, she wants to invite him to her - but only for this occasion has a new sofa for the home side to side to make a good impression on Reza. In addition to the sofa but also Yaldas shyness challenging the dome attempts by the mother dar.

Publication and award

The film was first shown in 2011 at the 19th International Film Festival in Hamburg and received at the Montreal World Film Festival award in the category of Best Actress. In 2012, the drama was also presented at the Festival Cleveland International Film Festival and the Tiburon International Film Festival.
