Hermann III, Count of Weimar-Orlamünde

Hermann III. of Weimar- Orlamünde (* 1230, † 1283) was a Count of the branch Weimar- Orlamünde Ascanian.

Life

Hermann III. was a son of Hermann II of Weimar- Orlamünde and Beatrix von Andechs- Meranien. With his Frankish possessions Hermann joined III. together with his brother Otto III. about his mother's heir Otto II of Merano. Residence was the castle Plass. After the death of his father in 1278 Otto III received. Weimar and the Plassenburg alone, Hermann III. received the county Orlamünde. He died in 1283 of the plague.
