Hermann Jäger

Hermann Hunter ( born October 7, 1815 in Münchenbernsdorf; † January 5, 1890 in Eisenach ) was a German gardener and garden writer.

Hermann hunters learned the nursery at the Belvedere in Weimar, formed in different places further out, traveled to Italy in 1840, then studied at the Jardin de Luxembourg in Paris and otherwise made ​​the French pruning trees and was the Count Talleyrand -Périgord.

After visiting Belgium and England, he joined again in a Belvedere, then survived a short time in the Botanical Garden in Berlin, and in 1844 hired as head gardener in Eisenach, 1873 appointed grand ducal garden inspector.

Hunter created several parks, but was mainly engaged in literature. Of his very numerous writings on all branches of horticulture, his textbook of garden art (Berlin 1877) is particularly noteworthy.
