Hermann Müller (athlete)

Hermann Müller ( born April 18, 1885 in Berlin, † January 21, 1947 ) was a German athlete who in Athens, the silver medal in the 3,000-meter - Go won at the 1906 Summer Olympics ( 15:20,0 min).

He started playing these games in the marathon, in which he finished ninth ( 3:21:00,0 h; 41.860 km ). The 5- mile run he gave up the race.

He was scheduled to start at the Olympic Games in 1908, but could not come because he had to appear at a court hearing. In 1911 he was disabled " lifetime ": he had brought as unemployed, trophies and Winners Prizes to pawn, which was viewed as a violation of the amateur status. After the First World War, the lock fell into oblivion.

In 1921 he exhibited two world records:

  • 20 - km walk (street ): 1:38:26 h on 17 July 1921 in Berlin
  • 50 - km walk (street ): 4:40:14 h on September 11, 1921 in Munich

Hermann Müller was a member of the SC Komet Berlin. In its competition time he was 1.65 meters tall and weighed 52 kg. He has a memorial grave at the cemetery army in Berlin.
