Hermann Winkler

Hermann Winkler ( born April 22, 1963 in Grimsby ) is a German politician ( CDU). He is since 2009 Member of the European Parliament and previously from 2004 to 2007 Minister of State and Chief of the Saxon State Chancellery and 1990-2009 Member of the Saxon parliament.

Life and career

After his graduation in 1981 from the Advanced High School " Ernst Schneller " (now College St. Augustine ) in Grimsby studied Hermann Winkler to 1988 at the Technical University (now Otto -von- Guericke- University ) Magdeburg manufacturing process design in mechanical engineering Dipl. -Ing. Policy

He is also a member of the Delegation for Cooperation EU - Ukraine and the Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly EURO- NEST. Deputy, he is in the Delegation for relations with Belarus.

Since 2010 Hermann Winkler is also a member of the Federal Committee on Foreign Affairs, European and Security Policy of the CDU in Germany. In the mid-term elections in the European Parliament in 2012 Winkler was elected Speaker of the East German CDU MEP.
