Way of life

These primates are diurnal and sleep at night among the lush vegetation or in tree hollows. Hold mainly to the trees, where they move quadrupedal or jumping, come in search of food but sometimes on the floor.

They live in groups of 8 to 15 animals. These groups are organized around a full blown pair, several females hold on it, propagates only the dominant. Their diet consists mainly of insects and other small animals, in addition they also eat fruits and flowers. Sometimes they also take tree sap to himself, this play compared to other marmosets but only a subordinate role.

As with all marmosets usually fraternal twins are born. The father and the other group members participate actively in the rearing of the young, they have the boy and handed it to the mother only for suckling.

Endangering

Parts of the distribution area of this type are affected by massive deforestation. Because of their ability to live in partially cleared forests, the IUCN lists the Aripuanã - marmoset but as " not at risk " ( least concern ).
