Hessdalen

Hessdalen is a good 12 km long high valley in central Norway, located around 120 kilometers south of Trondheim and about 50 km from Holtålen and belongs to the latter community. In the valley itself is about 150 people. The valley is named after the river Hesja.

Since the early 1980s, the name of the remote valley is known because there observed unidentified, floating light phenomena, called the " Hessdalen lights " over Norway addition. A research group within the project Hessdalen AMS examines these phenomena since the mid- 1980s.
