Hessigheim

Hessigheim is a municipality in the district of Ludwigsburg, about 25 km north of Stuttgart. The municipality Hessigheim apart from the village Hessigheim There are no other places.

Geography

Hessigheim is located on the right bank of the Neckar on a south facing loop between Mundelsheim in the east and in the west Besigheim. The steep slopes north of the loop are covered with vineyards, the southern shore of the river is forested. Other neighbors are Gemmrigheim in the north, the south and the small Ingersheim Besigheimer district Ottmar home in the northeast.

History

The site was probably founded by the Alemanni and came under Frankish rule later. In the year 774 he was first mentioned in the Lorsch Codex. In the Middle Ages the village belonged to the rule Besigheim and shared their fate; as it was in the possession of the Margraviate of Baden, partly the Palatinate. In 1595 Württemberg acquired the rule. Administratively, the village belonged to the upper office Besigheim, from 1938 to the district of Ludwigsburg. While the local government reform in the 1970s, when an insertion after Besigheim was up for discussion, the community was able to maintain its independence. You heard since then but at the Gemeindeverwaltungsverband Besigheim. With its approximately 2,200 inhabitants Hessigheim is the smallest municipality in the district.

Religions

Hessigheim is predominantly Protestant since the Reformation in the 16th century. For the few Catholics, the Roman Catholic church in Gemmrigheim is responsible.

After the last municipal election held on 7 June 2009, the council has ten members. The turnout was 60.93 %. The choice was as follows:

Martin Schwarz in 1992, mayor. As the successor Günther fungus was elected on 7 February 2010.

Coat of arms and flag

On July 18, 1979 Hessigheim was awarded by the District Office Ludwigsburg a coat of arms and a flag in the colors green and white. The coat of arms shows in silver on green hill, which is covered below with a silver shaft bar, a green vine with three purple grapes. It thus points to the wine as traditional line and the situation on the Neckar.

Natural Monuments

North of the village are in a cut bank of the Neckar, the towering, jagged rock gardens that are popular with walkers as with rock climbers. In recent years, the high-altitude trails, however, were locked in there because of violent erosion, landslide and rockfall hazard for walkers. Meanwhile, extensive slope stabilization have been made. The rock surfaces and the underlying vineyards form a habitat for protected and heat -loving plants and animals such as the Carthusian Elke, the wall lizard or the blue -winged grasshopper.

Economy and infrastructure

Hessigheim is a wine-growing village, whose documents are Großlage Schalk stone in the area Württembergisch sub- Württemberg Country of the wine region.

Established businesses

Below the Hessigheimer rock gardens, on the road to Besigheim, is the Felsengartenkellerei that by the winegrowers of the surrounding communities (including Hessigheim ) is operated.

Education

Hessigheim has its own primary and secondary school. In addition, there are two kindergartens in the city.

Supply and disposal

The electricity network in the community is operated by the Syna GmbH. A gas supply does not exist. The drinking water is obtained from the Besigheimer water supply group. Be disposed of in the sewage treatment plant in the municipality of its own, which is about one kilometer down the Neckar located.
