Hewitt (hill)

A Hewitt ( engl. hill in England, Wales or Ireland over two thousand feet) denotes a hill in England, Wales or Ireland, which is at least 2000 feet or 609.6 meters high and from its environment is at least 30 meters ( Vertical separation ) rises. This bizarre classification was introduced by Alan Dawson.

There are 525 Hewitt recorded, 178 in England, 137 in Wales and 211 in Ireland. Scotland was not counted by Dawson, as there are too many corresponding mountains here. It is but part of other organizations, or even has its own divisions.

In the UK, one of " collecting" of Hewitt's quirky as a leisure activity (so-called " peak bagging ").
