Hey Ocean!

Hey Ocean! are a Canadian indie trio, which was founded in Vancouver in 2005. The band was formed when guitarist David Beckingham and to the singer Ashleigh Ball ( who knew each other from school days ) 2005, bassist David Vertesi met. The creation of a scenario, still, and results from Ashleigh Ball (vocals / flute), David Beckingham (vocals / guitar) and David Vertesi (vocals / bass). Hey Ocean! combine several genres, mainly Indie, Pop and Acoustic. The band tours regularly over long distances through Canada. Many of their concerts they play together with friendly bands and musicians from Vancouver ( Shad K, Mother Mother and Said the Whale ).

Several years drove the band their music through their own label Nettwerk Management until they signed with Universal Music Canada, 2011.

The band gained thanks to the singer Ashleigh Ball additional international attention through the synchronization work in the animated series My Little Pony - Friendship is magic and by the so-called " Bronies ", the trailer from the " Friendship is Magic" fan - universe. Fans have created music videos with the band's songs and footage from the show, some of which can be viewed on the official website of the band.

Tour

The band is often on tour and played in the past, numerous national concerts. By his own testimony were Hey Ocean! so far (as of August 2012) 13,162 km on tour and spent doing each tour over 170 hours in their van.

The band played in 2008 at the Virgin Festival in Calgary, Alberta.

2009 toured Hey Ocean! with the Australian band The Cat Empire and were encountered while SxSW.

A year later, she again traveled through Canada and played some of their concerts at the Olympic Winter Games 2010 in Vancouver, Canada.

In summer 2011 they played several concerts, including "The City of Vancouver 's 125th Anniversary" and " Live at Squamish ", a three-day music festival in Squamish.

It was completed in 2011 with a tour across Canada. It was played at the Prince George Winter Festival. During an appearance Ashleigh Ball suffered a vocal cord inflammation, as a result, the last part of the tour was canceled, which affected eastern Canada.

In the summer of 2011 occurred Hey Ocean! at the Osheaga Music Festival in Montreal, and in August 2012 along with the indie alternative band "Fun" in " SeaWheeze After Party And Concert" in Vancouver.
