The Leipzig Graduate School of Management (HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management ), is a private, state-recognized university and business school in Leipzig. She sees herself in the tradition of 1896 on the initiative of the Leipzig Chamber of Commerce and the German Association for the commercial education according to the ideas of the pioneer of the commercial high school thought, Gustav von Mevissen, as the first German Graduate School of Management was founded and opened in 1898 college that was founded in 1946 at the University of Leipzig affiliated and by 1992 had stock in different organizational forms. Development

HHL was founded in April 1898 as the Graduate School at the initiative of the Leipzig Chamber of Commerce. After several moves they had since 1910, headquartered in the scheme established by Fritz Schumacher building in the Knights Road. In 1946 she was incorporated as a faculty in the University of Leipzig, received in 1969, however, as the successor to the closed Academy of domestic trade a partial autonomy back. In 1992, the college was closed as part of the amendment to the Saxon Higher Education Act, the same year it came to starting up by the Commerce and Industry Chamber of Leipzig. In 1996, the first students were enrolled. HHL Leipzig is one of the Chamber of Commerce, the Foundation of Kramer Guild and the Society of Friends of HHL.

Overview

HHL is organized according to study programs and departments. The line is composed of the Academic Rector, who is also the dean, and the Registrar.

In April 2004 HHL has been accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business ( AACSB ), which was confirmed in April 2009. All programs in which the HHL gives an academic degree are accredited by the organization ACQUIN. In the rankings of the university is performing well.

Study programs

In all study programs taught entirely in English. Exchange students, that are a complete up to three semesters at HHL to continue their studies at their home university in connection represented in all study programs, but mainly in M.Sc. - and in the MBA program.

Master's Degree Programme in Management ( MSc) ( Full time and Part time)

With the consecutive Master's program Bachelor graduates (university, college or vocational academy ) have the opportunity to acquire the Master of Science in Management (M.Sc. ) in a 21-month English-language study program. Students complete an internship and spend one term at a foreign partner university of their choice. The part-time MSc in Management program began in January 2011. It conveys within 24 months of in-depth knowledge of management. Classes are held approximately every three weeks at the weekend in Leipzig.

Master 's Program in General Management (MBA ) ( Full time and Part time)

The full-time MBA program at HHL is aimed at graduates of all degree programs that already have some work experience. The program starts in September and lasts for 15 months ( Fast Track ) to 21 months ( Advanced Track ). For professionals with at least three years of professional experience, HHL offers a part-time MBA program, which the participants attend part-time. The courses take place on 17 weekends spread rather than a period of 24 months in Leipzig. The part -time MBA program starts in March and lasts 24 months.

Global Executive MBA in collaboration with EADA Business School

The MBA program is aimed at graduates of all degree programs, which already have professional and management experience. Within 18 months, the program is in ten weeks block in Leipzig (four weeks), Barcelona (four weeks), and at two other universities (one week) taught in Brazil, China or India.

Doctoral Program

The designed three-year doctoral program at HHL is aimed at candidates with an economics degree. The course takes place in the form of lectures and seminars, and research colloquia and conferences, which can be completed within one year. The PhD student obtained after successful completion of the study and acceptance of his dissertation the title Dr. rer. oec. All events in the doctoral program will be offered in that they can be followed in parallel to a profession.
