Hideki Mutoh

Hideki Muto (Japanese武 藤 英 纪, Hideki Muto, born October 6, 1982 in Chūō, Tokyo, Japan) is a Japanese racing driver. It occurs since 2007 under the name Hideki Mutoh. From 2007 to 2011 he was active in the IndyCar Series. His best IndyCar finish was a second place. In the overall standings the tenth grade was his best result.

Career

Muto began his motorsport career in 1996 in karting. In 1998 the Japanese to Europe and was first appointed to the Formula Vauxhall Winter Series. In 1999 he started in the regular championship and finished tenth. In 2000, Muto for two years in the British Formula Ford After he had become in his first season in twelfth, he finished 19th overall in 2001. He also appeared in the 2001 European Formula Ford and finished third in this championship.

2002 Muto returned to Asia, and performed legend in the formula to. After he had achieved in his first season, the runner-up title, he secured in his second season with eight wins from 11 races the championship title in this series. In 2004 he moved into the Japanese Formula 3 Championship and finished the season with two podium finishes in ninth place overall. In 2005, he remained in this series and improved to three wins on the third overall behind the master João Paulo de Oliveira and Kazuki Nakajima. In 2006, the Japanese in the Formula Nippon. While his team-mate Loïc Duval scored the fourth in the drivers' standings, took Muto only one point and ended the season ranked 14th parallel, he raced in the Super GT and finished with a win for the eleventh place overall.

2007 joined the Japanese to North America and joined in the IRL Pro Series under the name Hideki Mutoh for Panther Racing. Mutoh won two races and had to finish the season only to Master Alex Lloyd beaten. Racing in Joliet, he did not present himself in the IRL Pro Series but in the IndyCar Series. Right off the bat he scored the fastest lap and finished the race in eighth place. In the overall standings, he was 25 in 2008, he joined Andretti Green Racing, where he replaced the migrated in the NASCAR series champion Dario Franchitti. Mutoh finished some races in the top ten pilots and scored second in Newton until then best placement of a Japanese in the IndyCar Series. The season he finished as the best newcomer in tenth place overall. Mutoh 2009 remained at Andretti Green Racing. He could build on the achievements from the previous season and, with a third place again in Newton his best result. At the end of the season, he finished eleventh overall.

2010 left Mutoh Andretti Green Racing after he had each been the worst regular driver of the team in the two seasons, and joined Newman / Haas / Lanigan Racing. But the former top team was unable to repeat earlier successes this season. After a few races left also co-owner Mike Lanigan team, whose name was then changed back to Newman / Haas Racing. The former team driver Graham Rahal had the team after losing his sponsor temporarily leave and came only in the second half of the season for use. Thus Mutoh was half the season the only driver of the team. To have achieved without a place among the first ten drivers Mutoh finished 18th overall.

2011 Mutoh returned to Japan. In Formula racing he graduated there four races at Motegi. Three times he went there in Formula Nippon, once in the IndyCar Series to. In addition, Mutoh competed in the Super GT.
