Hidemitsu Tanaka

Hidemitsu Tanaka (Japanese田中 英 光, Schriftstellerpseudonym :出 方 名 英 光, Dekatana Hidemitsu; born October 1, 1913 in Tokyo, † November 3, 1949 ) was a Japanese writer, who is also representing the Buraiha (无 頼 派) is known.

Life

Hidemitsu was born as the son of originating from Kōchi historian Iwasaki Kyōsen in the Akasaka district, Tokyo. He grew up in Kamakura, where he also went to school.

He studied politics and economics at Waseda University. During his studies he took part in the Summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles. After graduating, he worked in the company Yokohama. In 1937 he married Kiyo Kojima (?) (小岛 喜 代). 1940 Hidemitsu was awarded the Iketani - Shinzaburo price. He retired in 1944 with his family to Shizuoka, but left his wife and child three years later, in 1947, to live in sin, Shinjuku.

He joined at the instigation of his brother in the Japanese Communist Party. The experience with the party entrance as well as his amorous adventures in Shinjuku form the background of his literary work. He learned Dazai Osamu, and became his student. The suicide shocked Hidemitsu Dazai and the subsequent Tablettensucht changed its character appreciably. In May 1949 he stood in a delusion on his mistress, with whom he lived. In November 1949, he committed suicide in Mitaka at the grave Dazai Osamus suicide.

His son Koji Tanaka is also a writer.
