Hideo Yamamoto

Hideo Yamamoto (山 本 英 夫Japanese, Hideo Yamamoto; * 1968 in Saitama Prefecture, Japan) is a Japanese manga artist.

Yamamoto published his first manga in 1989 with Sheep. In the 1990s he recorded for various manga magazines more previous to his manga series Ichi the Killer, where he worked from 1998 to 2001. The film adaptation of this manga created a sensation and made Yamamoto known. Since 2003, he draws on his second successful manga, Homunculus, Big Comic Spirits for.

Yamamoto's drawings are very realistic, especially in his more recent works such as Homunculus and adapted to the Gekiga style. His manga often contain explicit depiction of violence.
