Higgsino

Higgsinos ( summarizing formula symbol ) in supersymmetric theories of particle physics, the hypothetical fermionic superpartners of the bosonic Higgs fields.

Analogous to the number of Higgs fields in the MSSM there are therefore a total of five Higgsinos:

Mixture to mass eigenstates

Because of matching quantum numbers (spin, electric and color charge ) mix the Higgsinos as interaction eigenstates with non-observable gaugino super partners of the W- and B- fields, the winos and the bino for the following observable mass eigenstates:

  • Four electrically neutral Majorana fermions: the neutralino or ( from the neutral gauginos and or the photino and Zino and the neutral Higgsinos and or and )
  • Two pairs of electrically charged Dirac fermions: the charginos / and / and / and / ( from the charged gauginos and or and and the charged and Higgsinos ).

In contrast, no Higgs fields for this are in the standard model necessary that the mixing of the corresponding fields of the electroweak interactions are observed as a result of spontaneous symmetry breaking:
