High endothelial venules
The term hochendotheliale venule (HEV ) or postcapillary ( epithelioid ) venule, often high endothelial venule English, refers to a small venous blood vessel in lymphoid organs ( lymph nodes, Peyer plates, almonds ) can be found right next to follicles. There the venule allows passage ( Leukodiapedese ) of lymphocytes from the blood into the surrounding areas. The inner wall (endothelium ) of an HEV is - in contrast to other endothelial venules - not lined with flat, but with cube -shaped ( isoprismatic ) cells, which therefore also have round abgeplattenen instead of nuclei.
